The Fluted Glass Wall Light

A clear fluted glass shade on a slim brass stem, hung from a black metal arm. The shade flares out and finishes in a wavy rim, so the light scatters through the ribs instead of pointing straight down at whoever is standing under it.

Reads older than it is. Good beside a mirror or up a stairwell, anywhere the bulb sits near eye level and glare would otherwise be the first thing you notice.
